Encodes everything unsafe in a URL component — spaces, ampersands, equals signs, question marks — and decodes percent-encoded strings back, reporting malformed sequences instead of throwing.
Runs entirely in your browser
URLs can only contain a limited set of characters, so anything else — spaces, ampersands, equals signs, question marks, non-ASCII text — has to be percent-encoded to travel safely in a query string or path. This tool percent-encodes a URL component and decodes encoded strings back into readable text.
It encodes exactly what needs encoding in a component context, so a value you place into a query parameter will not break the surrounding URL. On decoding, malformed percent sequences are reported rather than throwing an error, so a slightly broken string still tells you what is wrong instead of failing silently.
It runs in your browser, so the URLs you work with stay on your device. Use it when building query strings by hand, debugging a link with encoded parameters, or turning encoded text back into something readable.
