About this tool

A precise stopwatch for timing anything — a workout, a task, a process, a race. It measures elapsed time using the browser’s High Resolution Performance clock, which gives sub-millisecond precision rather than the coarse ticks of an ordinary timer, and offers the controls you expect: start, pause, resume and lap.

The lap feature records split times as you go and compares them in real time, so you can see whether each interval was faster or slower than the last. That makes it genuinely useful for interval training, benchmarking a repeated task, or timing anything where the pattern of splits matters as much as the total.

It runs entirely in your browser with no account, so you can start timing immediately and nothing is uploaded. Keep the tab open and it keeps running as a live stopwatch.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is this stopwatch?
It uses the browser’s High Resolution Performance API, giving sub-millisecond precision — considerably finer than a typical clock-based timer.
What do the lap and split features do?
Lap records the time at each press and shows the split for that interval, comparing it against previous laps so you can see whether you are speeding up or slowing down.
Can I pause and resume without losing my time?
Yes. Pausing holds the elapsed time and resuming continues from where you left off, so you can stop and restart timing freely.
Does it keep running if I switch tabs?
It tracks elapsed time against the high-resolution clock, so the measured duration stays correct while it runs in your browser.
Is an account or download required?
No. It runs in the browser with no sign-up or install, and nothing is sent to a server.
