About this tool

Dropping raw SVG into a React component does not work as-is: HTML attributes like class and stroke-width must become className and strokeWidth, inline styles must be objects, and the markup needs to be a valid component. This converter transforms raw SVG into production-ready React JSX (or TypeScript) components, handling the camelCase attribute mapping, style conversion, a TypeScript props interface, forwardRef and optional currentColor replacement.

Those transformations are exactly the fiddly, repetitive edits that make pasting an SVG into React annoying. Replacing fixed fills with currentColor, in particular, lets an icon inherit the surrounding text colour — the standard pattern for icon components — and the tool can do it automatically.

It runs in your browser, so your SVG is not uploaded. Use it to turn exported icons into React components, build an icon set, or convert a one-off SVG for use in a Next.js app.

Frequently asked questions

Why can’t I paste SVG straight into React?
JSX uses camelCase attributes (className, strokeWidth) and object styles, so raw SVG attributes must be converted. This tool handles that conversion into valid JSX.
What does the currentColor replacement do?
It swaps fixed fill or stroke colours for currentColor, so the icon inherits the surrounding text colour — the usual pattern for reusable icon components.
Can it output TypeScript components?
Yes. It can generate a TypeScript props interface and use forwardRef, producing a ready-to-use typed component.
Is my SVG uploaded?
No. Conversion runs in your browser, so the markup stays on your device.
