About this tool

Generate QR codes for the things people actually encode — a website URL, Wi-Fi credentials for automatic joining, a contact vCard, an email address or a phone number — and scan existing QR images too, all in your browser. You can customise the foreground and background colours, set the error-correction level and download the result as a PNG or a scalable SVG.

The Wi-Fi and vCard options are especially handy: a Wi-Fi QR lets guests connect without typing a password, and a vCard QR shares your full contact details in one scan. Error correction lets a code still scan even if part of it is obscured or damaged, at the cost of a denser pattern.

Because generation and scanning run locally, the data you encode — which may include a Wi-Fi password or personal contact details — is not uploaded. Download SVG when you need the code to print sharply at large sizes, such as on a poster or packaging.

Frequently asked questions

What can I encode in a QR code?
URLs, Wi-Fi network credentials (for automatic connection), contact vCards, email addresses and phone numbers, among others.
Can it scan QR codes as well as create them?
Yes. It can decode existing QR images in your browser, in addition to generating new codes.
What does the error-correction level do?
Higher error correction lets a code still be read even if part of it is dirty, damaged or covered by a logo, at the cost of a denser pattern.
Should I download PNG or SVG?
PNG is fine for screens and small prints; choose SVG when the code must stay sharp at large sizes, such as posters or packaging.
Is my data uploaded?
No. Generating and scanning happen in your browser, so encoded details like Wi-Fi passwords or contact information stay on your device.
